If one happens to walk through the by-lanes of Agra, then one can witness innumerable food joints thereby discovering the thousand culinary secrets. The aromas of tasty cuisine from each and every corner might bring water in your mouth. This 3-hour walking tour consists of sampling 5-6 different Indian food dishes from different specialty eateries, spread across the city. This evening or morning tour allows you to hop-in and hop-out of traditional roadside eateries, enabling you to try the best items each menu has to offer.
In the morning or evening as per your convenience, you will be picked up from your hotel, the guide will then take you to the famous chaat gali of Agra, which offers enormous variety of chaats The street is dotted with an array of chaat (savory snacks) vendors selling not one but around 10-15 different varieties of chaat. Amongst them the most famous being, Pani puri (a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water (pani), tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion and chickpeas), aloo chaat, aloo tikki, pav bhaji, dahi papdi chaat, dahi gunjiya, bhel puri etc.
The variety of cuisines available in Agra ranges from Mughlai food to international and oriental cuisine with a perfect blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Later treat your taste buds with finger licking Indian Burger - Vada Pav. Vada Pav is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the Indian state of Maharashtra, consisting of a potato fritter in a bread bun.
Once you are done, scout through the narrow alleyways to reach another shop famous for Kachori, served with spicy potato curry and curd (yoghurt) along with Jalebi (an Indian sweet made of a coil of batter fried and steeped in syrup). You will also have a chance to sweeten your mouth with 15 different varieties of Indian traditional sweets. Here, taste another famous delicacy- Samosas. They are made up of white flour and stuffed potatoes and then deep-fried to get that famous mouth-watering taste.
The final stop during the tour is Panchhi Petha shop. Agra is famous for its Petha- a sweet made of white pumpkin, native to Agra. You can taste variety of pethas just in case you love getting a sugar high! At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back off to your hotel in Agra.
